Our Mission

Leveling the playing field, one season at a time.

At Developing Leaders through Equity in Athletics for Girls (DLEAG), our mission is to level the playing field in youth sports by championing equal opportunities and accessibility for girls. We are committed to breaking barriers, challenging gender disparities, and building a future where girls have the same access, visibility, and support in sports as boys. Through advocacy, community engagement, and empowering programs, this coed organization strives to foster leadership, build character and confidence, emphasize collaboration, and focus on holistic development both on and off the court, for the future generation of female student athletes.

Mindful Mondays

Every Monday, before the ball starts bouncing, our student athletes sit down with their coaches for a short workshop on confidence, leadership, and communication — tools they'll use well beyond the season.

For Parents & Guardians

Built around what you actually need to know.

Signing up for a new season comes with a dozen small questions. Here's what to expect before you register.

Pricing you can see upfront

Early bird rates are posted on every program, and scholarships are available so cost doesn't decide who plays.

A coaching staff that mentors

Weekly wellness and character-building sessions sit alongside skills training, not separate from it.

The same rhythm every week

Skills one day, team development another, games on game day — no surprises on the calendar.

Rooted in the tri-city community

Programs run out of Newark Middle School and the Newark Silliman Center — close to home.

Quick Answers

Wondering about any of this?

Four things parents ask most before registering.

Are your programs only for girls in sports?

While our main mission is to support and empower girls in sports, our programs are open to boys. We believe in the holistic development of all student athletes, and so we welcome anyone into our programs.

Does my student athlete need prior experience?

No, your student athlete does not need to have prior experience as this is a development league. Our student athletes come from all different experience levels. However, if your student athlete has no experience, we require an evaluation/assessment from them to gauge where they are at in skill level.

When does registration close?

Registration will close the weekend before assessment week to give coaches ample to prepare.

What's your refund policy?

A full refund may be requested up to seven (7) calendar days prior to the official start of the season. No refunds will be issued once the season has begun, regardless of participation status, injury, withdrawal, or other circumstances. For more information, view our Terms and Conditions.

Get Involved

You don't have to play to be part of the team.

Student athlete, parent, coach, or ally — DLEAG runs on people who show up. Volunteer to coach, officiate, run the scorer's table, or shoot photo and video. Partner with DLEAG to back the mission directly. Or just tell another family — that's how a tri-city movement grows.
